By providing a good counterpoise, we have seen anywhere from 6-24dB receive gain on VHF\/UHF varying with the antenna you mount to it. Paired with the molle clip, it's intended to mount up off the shoulder on a backpack, ruck, plate carrier, chest rig, and whatever else you have with molle. By doing so, it gets the antenna up and away from your body. This increases the amount of RF energy out and into the antenna. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe counterpoise from us is used for VHF\/UHF frequencies. The coaxial cable is RG-8x to minimize losses for UHF\/VHF\/HF while remaining plenty flexible for your kit's specific needs. It uses BNC connectors for use with all your favorite antennas. That means as you change kit, it can adapt with it. If you're out in the field, decide you need to extend comms range, it can be done without hassle.
